Helping others has always been my passion, particularly in the field of mental health. I understand firsthand the challenges of not having access to the necessary resources and support. That’s why I aim to provide opportunities for others to receive help when they need it most. Mental health counseling can empower individuals to live healthier and happier lives

My Personal Mental Wellness Beliefs

Mental wellness has always been at the forefront of my experience. Growing up in a Caribbean culture, I have witnessed the pervasive stigma around mental health. It has always motivated me to be a trailblazer in the field. Our mental well-being is a valuable resource that we often neglect due to fear or lack of attention. It's time to discover and nurture this personal wealth within ourselves.

Psychology Today

Hi, my name is Shauntel Lucius, MA, LPC-A. When it comes to therapy, I take on an integrative approach, as the field of counseling is an evolving one. I have worked in various clinical settings including, residential, outpatient setting and private practice. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) when working with clients. My focus centers around helping clients recognize their limitations and work towards a more optimal, fulfilling, and productive life.

I can provide support to clients as they navigate through the challenges of understanding and finding themselves. I have experience working with adolescents, young adults and adults dealing with but not limited to mental health issues such as anxiety, adjustment, depression, PTSD, self-esteem concerns and addiction.

I firmly believe that no two individuals are the same, hence it is why I believe that the most crucial aspect of effective therapy is that the client and therapist work together to help the client meet their identified goals in treatment. With a collaborative relationship, I work to empower others to attain a more fulfilling life.
